Established in 1983 and represents the welded carbon steel tube and pipe manufacturers in South Africa.
The members account for 70% of the installed capacity for conveyance, mechanical and structural tubular products which are supplied to international specifications.
The objectives of the Association are:
Promote the use of welded carbon steel tube and pipe.
Represent common interests to Government, Quasi Government and other organisations
Promote import replacement, where feasible
Promote the export of welded carbon steel tube and pipe
Co-operation without collusion between the members
International Wire and Machinery Association
The IWMA’s mission is to promote new technology, education and growth within the industry through its events, conferences and publicity opportunities which offer an international forum for technological advance and best practice for its members. Founded in 1970, the International Wire & Machinery Association is the world’s largest and most influential corporate association for the wire and cable industries.
IWCS
IWCS organizes the International Cable & Connectivity Symposium as the premier technology forum for the exchange of information about product, material and process innovation for cabling and connectivity solutions and for the development of industry professionals through education and scholarships.
International Tube Association (ITA)
The ITA is the sole globally active membership association for the tube & pipe industries. The Powerline Association of SA (POLASA)
The Powerline Association of SA (POLASA) supports the development and maintenance of the full spectrum of the powerline industry to ensure a viable and sustainable network of companies that can support the growth and maintenance of the grid for the transmission and distribution of electricity in Sub Saharan Africa.
The core purpose of the association is to provide all the stakeholders in the power line industry with a common platform to address matters of common interest and concern. Core activities include continuous improvement of the industry in terms of quality, productivity, investment, job creation, skills development and retention, technological development, safety and social responsibility which could include assisting members to achieve their transformation aspirations.
Steel Tube Export Association of South Africa (STEASA)
The Steel Tube Export Association of South Africa has been established to develop sustainable, internationally competitive carbon steel tube and pipe manufacturing export markets for South African Manufacturers, which meets the broader national objectives of job creation, Industry Transformation, beneficiated export growth and wealth creation through:

Co-operation amongst stakeholders in the removal of restraints to global competitiveness.

Effectively utilizing all resources available within the industry to promote sustainable export growth capability and value for existing manufacturers and to facilitate entry to international markets by new entrants.
