Qualifying technologically, expanding the market and the competitiveness of the mining industry are just some of the Association’s goals. Mining, one of the foundations for progress in the Country, seeks with the support of IBRAM, the economic and social development, having as a principle the respect to the environment and the sustainability.
The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining exists to promote and develop all aspects of materials science and engineering, geology, mining and associated technologies, mineral and petroleum engineering and extraction metallurgy. The Institute was formed from the merger of the Institute of Materials and the Institution of Mining and Metallurgy in June 2002, and is the professional body for the international materials, minerals and mining community. The Institute provides a range of activities and initiatives, including information and library services, conferences and workshops, as well as publications, and promotes the materials discipline to younger generations through various educational resources.
