Nicholas Snowdon heads the metals and mining research at Mercuria Energy Trading. He brings 17 years of experience in the commodity trading industry previous that, most recently working at Goldman Sachs as a Managing Director, Head of Metals Research. Previously, he was with Deutsche Bank as Director, Base Metals and Bulks Strategist for 2 years. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Politics and Philosophy from the University of Durham and a Master’s degree in Development Economics and Finance from the London University, School of Oriental and African Studies.

Yanting li holds a Master's degree in Applied Economics and works at Cinda Futures Research Institute as Senior Analyst of Non-ferrous Metals, primarily responsible for copper and aluminum research. Since entering the industry, she has focused on the non-ferrous metals sector, leveraging the commodity cycle to conduct research from both macroeconomic and industrial perspectives, gradually developing a sector-based analytical approach. She has published over 20 in-depth reports in public media outlets such as Futures Daily, Xinhua Finance, Poker Finance, and Shanghai Metals Market. Li has provided personalized hedging services for many large listed companies, earning recognition from corporate clients. Ge Honglin

Mr. Ge Honglin is a member of the Standing Committee of the 13 th National Committee and Economic Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference(CPPCC). Now he is the President of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association (CNIA), the convenor of Non-executive Directors of Aviation Industry Corporation of China, LTD. and China Rongtong Asset Management Group Corporation Limited, and a consultant of China Association of Mayors. Mr. Ge Honglin holds a PhD of Engineering and is a Professorate Senior Engineer. He was the Deputy General Manager of Baosteel Group and the President of Baosteel Research Institute in 1998. He has long been engaged in the research on new steel materials, planning and management of large metallurgical projects. Mr. Ge served as Mayor of People’s Government of Chengdu Municipality from 2003 to 2014. During that period of time, he presided over major international conferences such as the 2013 Fortune Global Forum and the China-U.S. Mayors’ Forum. He was honored with the National Model City Leadership Award for Environmental Protection and the China Mayors’ Special Contribution Award. From 2014 to 2019, Mr. Ge took the positions of Board Chairman of Aluminum Corporation of China, Director of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, and Vice-Chairman of International Aluminium Institute. He delivered speeches at international forums such as China-U.S., China-EU business leaders and former senior officials’ dialogues. From 2020 to 2023, he served as convenor of Non-executive Directors of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation.

With more than 18 years of experience leading complex businesses within major corporations, he has directed sustainable technology implementation across the energy, mining and transportation sectors.    Juan Ignacio’s professional journey spans from his most recent position as the Senior Vice President and CCO for Siemens USA and Latin America to serving as the CEO of Siemens in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean; CEO of Siemens Chile; and GC for Siemens South America.   Juan Ignacio holds an MBA from Adolfo Ibanez University, an LL.M from Duke University School of Law and a LL.B/JD from Finis Terrae University School of Law.

Francisco Acuña

Francisco joined CRU Consulting in 2019 after a nine-year career across the base and battery metals sector. Before this Francisco co-founded and led the business development at Kura Minerals, advising on acquisition strategies, deal structuring and project financing across a wide spectrum of mining companies and financial institutions.

Francisco also worked at BHP where he was responsible for geometallurgy and project development at Escondida mine site in northern Chile, and involved in mineral processing R&D for different assets in the company’s Copper group.

During his MSc degree thesis, Francisco explored public policy and macroeconomics aspects of the resource industry´s role in economic growth.

Francisco based in CRU's Santiago office holds a Chemical Engineer degree from University of Concepción, Chile and a M.Sc. Industry, Trade & Development from University of Manchester, United Kingdom.

Erik Heimlich

Erik Heimlich is Head of Copper and Zinc at CRU and works across the portfolio of products analysing key trends and developments in these industries.Since joining CRU in 2012, Erik has been particularly involved in the analysis of the copper market with a particular focus on Latin American mine supply and the global copper concentrates market.Erik holds an MSc in Economics and Econometrics from Essex University and is based in CRU's Santiago office.

Craig Lang

Craig brings to CRU more than 15 years' experience as a commodity and equity research analyst, primarily covering the mining and metals sector.

In addition to base metals, he has also covered other sectors during his career including steel and chemicals. Craig's previous roles include working for Moelis & Company, Citigroup, Credit Suisse and WMC Resources and his extensive experience will strengthen CRU's coverage and service to our customers in the base metal markets.

Craig's primary focus will be the copper, nickel, lead and zinc industries. Craig is based in CRU's Singapore office. 

Julia Du

Julia Du currently serves as a Commodity Strategist at ICBC Standard Bank, focusing on in-depth research and analysis in the base metals, precious metals, and energy sectors. She provides macro, fundamental, and technical analysis of the metals market for both internal and external clients. Prior to joining ICBC Standard Bank, Julia worked as a Senior Analyst at the renowned UK-based metal consultancy CRU International for seven years, where she gained valuable insights into the metals market, developed strong data analysis skills, and acquired a deep understanding of the global commodity market. Julia possesses exceptional expertise in the metals industry and has participated in multiple international industry conferences, delivering presentations that have further solidified her professional reputation in the field. She holds a Master's degree in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics and a Master's degree in Public Policy from King's College London, providing her with a solid academic foundation and a broader global perspective.

In addition to her professional achievements, Julia is dedicated to charitable work. She has volunteered for UNICEF and several other non governmental organizations, demonstrating her commitment to making a positive impact on the community.

Sharon Ding is a China Basic Materials Analyst. Sharon has 10 years’ experience in Equity Research and has been a member of top-ranked franchises for Basic Materials/EV Battery Supply Chain Research. UBS China basic materials team ranked No.3 in 2022 Asia II. Prior to basic materials role, Sharon was a Materials & Consumer Analyst for UBS China 360 Research, a new evidence-based thematic research offering from UBS. Prior to UBS, Sharon worked in Deutsche Bank.

Matt Chamberlain

Matthew Chamberlain is the CEO of the London Metal Exchange and a member of the Management Committee of HKEX Group. Matthew joined the LME in 2012, having advised HKEX on the acquisition of the LME while at UBS. He started his career at Citibank, and holds an MA from Trinity College, Cambridge.

Lu Xinliang (Lucas Lu)

Mr. LU Xinliang (Lucas Lu) joined ZTT in 2010 and now is deputy general manager of international business division, ZTT Marine Industry Group.  He is responsible for strategic management of international sales & marketing, project risk management, contract compliance and also overall management and governance of teams' performance.  Mr. Lu holds a Bachelor of Arts form Harbin Engineering University and a Master of Business Administration from Shanghai Jiaotong University. He has a great understanding and experience of submarine cable application in offshore wind, power transmission, telecommunication and oil and gas industries. 

Motoki Makita

Motoki (Mick) Makita is responsible for managing the global copper cathode book of Mitsui & Co. Ltd. Motoki has over two decades of experience trading primary aluminium, secondary aluminium, and copper cathode and has good connections and relationships with end-users in China and the Asian region, and suppliers in the global market. He also worked as an expat in Moscow, Russia(2010-2013) and London, U.K.(2017-2020) and has much experience in the global mining sector. He completed the general management program at the Harvard Business School in 2018.
