Simon Price is CEO of Exawatt, which provides strategic consulting, detailed cost forecasting and supply-chain analysis in sectors that are united by common theme: decarbonisation through electrification. These include energy storage, electric vehicles (EV), power electronics and solar PV. Exawatt’s customers span the entire supply chain, from mining companies to major solar/storage developers and EV manufacturers.

The company was acquired by CRU Group in early 2023. Prior to founding Exawatt in 2015, Simon was the co-founder of a PV module factory design and integration company. In 2008, he was part of the founding team of a startup technology company dedicated to improving the efficiency of crystalline silicon solar cells.

An electrical engineer by first degree, Simon began his career in the UK steel industry and spent time in the US as a business and technology journalist, management consultant and CEO of a publicly traded US software company, before making the move into renewable energy in 2008. Simon holds a master’s degree in Science Communication from Imperial College London, and an undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.

Arnaud Morizot is a highly experienced engineering professional with a background in corrosion, chemical processes, and R&D management. He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering and a PhD in Materials from Heriot-Watt University.

Arnaud has held leadership positions in various industries, including automotive and steel, and has a proven track record of managing teams and developing materials. Arnaud is currently serving as the Material Engineering VP at Renault. He is skilled in operational management, materials lecturing and chemical process engineering, and material design.

Christophe de Charentenay is co-founder of Automotive Retrofit company SancEV : The Low Carbon Retrofit Champion Company.

Christophe is former executive in Renault Nissan Purchasing Organization and Executive Committee Member at Renault Samsung. He has founded and served as CEO of eGT (a JV formed by Renault, Nissan and Dongfeng which created and produced Dacia Spring).

Currently Christophe is board member of several Automotive JV in China, co-author of " The innovation Odyssey", a lecturer on Global warming mitigation at Bologna Business School and, last but no least, lecturer at La Sorbonne (Paris)

Arno Zinke is a seasoned product and technology leader with a strong background in digital innovation, software development, and cloud platforms. Before joining A2MAC1, he served as Hexagon’s SVP of Software Engineering. During his tenure, he led the software transformation of its manufacturing division and successfully designed and launched Nexus, Hexagon’s cloud platform for discrete manufacturing.

Arno has held various product and technology leadership positions at Autodesk, most recently as Chief Platform Architect. He played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s global platform, technology, and partnership strategies.

David Leah leads the outlook for automotive demand, production and electrification at CRU. He is a narrator of the unprecedented change in the automotive industry and its significance for commodity markets.

David has a wealth of experience working at leading automotive forecasting and analysis firms. He holds a MSc in International Business Economics from Oxford Brookes University.

Sam Adham is Head of Battery Materials at CRU. He leads the analysis covering the entire battery value chain from mining to end-use, in addition to technology and costs. Sam’s team emphasises strategic thinking, techno-economic understanding, and robust methodology to form unique insights into the future of the battery industry and the energy transition.

Sam is an automotive and battery expert with over a decade of experience at major auto manufacturers, working on advanced engineering projects and strategic planning. He tenured for several years at a leading industry analysis firm before joining CRU.

Pritish Chavan is a Costing & Insights Engineer at A2MAC1, specializing in Cost-to-Design, performance benchmarking, and due diligence studies. He identifies cost-down opportunities for automotive OEMs, OES, and Tier 1 customers, with a focus on High Voltage Battery Packs. Pritish facilitates client interactions, addressing pain points and offering expert consultancy using A2MAC1’s extensive teardown and benchmarking database.

Before this role, Pritish completed his Master’s in Business Administration and Engineering and interned at the R&D center of Hero Tech Center Germany, where he developed a pioneering business costing model for battery swapping technology

George Clegg joined CRU in 2023 as a Multicommodity Analyst within CRU’s Analysis Division, providing overarching research and insights across a wide variety of commodities. Based in London, George works to highlight the main themes impacting wider commodity markets and is responsible for the delivery of market commentary, asset data and analysis as part of CRU’s strategic partnership with Fitch Ratings.

Before joining CRU, George spent 5 years working as a Project Geologist within the mineral exploration industry. He has technical experience in multiple commodities, including copper and gold, having worked on projects in Egypt, Canada, and Cyprus. George gained a Master’s in Mining Geology at Camborne School of Mines

Mark White is Executive Director at Alumobility. Mark has a unique blend of skills: a detailed understanding of the automotive industry and a deep technical knowledge of automotive aluminum. These are complemented by Mark's ability to engage collaborative teams of engineers.

White received an Honors Degree in Automotive Design from Coventry University and was awarded a Doctor of Engineering in 2011 for work on lightweight structures. He is a Professor at Brunel University London and the Industry Advisory Board Chairman for the Brunel Centre for Advanced Solidification Technology (BCAST).

Thierry Malo is Senior Manager, Engineering Solutions for the Materials & SPDM group of Hexagon MI. Over the last 20 years, Thierry developed advanced expertise in plastics and composites materials, in numerical modelling, and in the application of AI to drive innovation around materials and simulation forward.

In his current role at Hexagon, Thierry manages a team that performs consulting projects on those topics and that, in parallel, incubates new solutions to accelerate access to materials data as well as address design and engineering needs of new materials, parts, and performances related to EVs, recycled plastics, additive systems... Thierry is part of the leadership team that defines the strategy of the materials and SPDM group.

Thomas Peter Samson is Head of Sales Copper Products at Aurubis. He is an accomplished professional with a strong background in economics, graduating from the Wirtschaftsakademie Hamburg (WAH). Commencing his career in 1994 at Norddeutsche Affinerie AG, Hamburg, Germany, he gained valuable experience in the Copper Sales Department. Subsequently, in 1996, Thomas Samson transitioned to the Anders Group, a reputable family-owned trader and processor of lumber, where he advanced from an Area Sales Manager to overseeing the furniture panels trading business.Returning to Norddeutsche Affinerie AG, now Aurubis AG, in 2002, Thomas Samson assumed the role of Key Account Manager, directing sales strategies for Copper Wire Rod and Shapes. His dedication and expertise led to his appointment as Head of Sales for Bars+Profiles and Copper on Account.

In addition to his extensive career achievements, Thomas Samson has shown a keen interest in sustainability. In 2021, he contributed significantly to the development of Aurubis' Sustainability Label 'Tomorrow Metals', underscoring his commitment to environmentally responsible business practices.

Jingbo Wu joined A2MAC1 in 2022 where he leads global product management for the A2MAC1 portfolio, encompassing teardown-based data offerings, A2MAC1’s proprietary benchmarking platform, and value-adding software solutions to address customer needs in the future.

In the past, he has led numerous consulting projects across the automotive industry on product benchmarking, Design-to-Value, and purchasing optimization, working with OEMs as well as suppliers.

Lorenzo Meazza is Senior Analyst at ICIS in the Petrochemical Division, with experience in chemistry, polymeric materials, market research, analysis and reporting, focusing on polyethylene (PE) market.

He is author of the ICIS PE Europe Price Forecast Report launched in May 2014. He is also responsible for LDPE, LLDPE, HDPE and EVA copolymers analytics in the ICIS Supply and Demand Data Service and contributes to single-client engagements and consulting projects, delivering presentations at conferences and presenting market outlooks.

Lorenzo is a chemical engineer with a PhD in Industrial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.

Aaron leads CRU’s battery cost modelling, forecasting production costs of current and next-generation battery technologies, understanding when and how new technologies will affect the battery market.

Prior to joining CRU, Aaron completed his PhD in lithium-ion battery degradation with the Faraday Institution at UCL. During this time he interned at Exawatt part-time for the duration of his studies.

Aaron is a project director of “Battery Pub”, an online networking event for the battery community.

Thorsten has in-depth technical expertise around digital and sustainability transformation of companies. Thorsten works for MHP’s customers, from developing a sustainability strategy that is integrated into the corporate strategy to developing business models and circular strategies.

Arnaud Goy is a Product Manager at A2MAC1, overseeing Market Insights and various Technology and Performance benchmarking solutions, including BiW and Chassis. Based in Vienna, Austria, Arnaud has been with A2MAC1 since 2018, assisting customers with platform strategy analysis and cost optimization.

He holds an Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Simulation from INSA, Rouen, France. He worked with major truck, automotive, and industrial equipment companies to virtualize and enhance their development and manufacturing processes

Carl Kuehl is a Senior Associate in Systemiq’s Circular Materials Platform, located in the Paris office. He focuses on projects related to mobility and metals and is experienced in strategic corporate advisory as well as coalition-building.

Since joining Systemiq, Carl has supported companies from across the automotive and battery value chains in the transition to circular business models and supply chains. He also co-authored seminal reports together with the Battery Pass Consortium, the World Economic Forum’s Circular Cars Initiative, and the Circular Economy Initiative Deutschland.

Carl holds a PhD in Supply Chain Management from Cranfield University and a cum laude MSc in Circular Economy from TU Delft and Leiden University. He teaches courses on circular business models and systems change at Cranfield University and St. Gallen University.

Miranda Jarvis is the Product Manager responsible for A2MAC1’s sustainability consulting division. She is responsible for developing and maintaining the company's sustainability tools and expanding their product offering. Additionally, she manages projects related to calculating and benchmarking carbon footprints.

Miranda began her career at A2MAC1 in 2021 as a cost engineer with a focus on body electronics, after completing her PhD in Astronomy. She has worked with many clients, including large and emerging OEMS and automotive suppliers. She endeavors to provide the best possible carbon footprint evaluations and benchmarks, to help her clients produce more environmentally friendly products.

Robert Dickinson, Executive Director, is an Analyst within the J.P. Morgan Asset Management International Equity Group, based in London. An employee since 2019, Robert was previously a global industrials analyst at Nomura Asset Management. Robert is a Chartered Accountant and obtained a MA in Modern History from the University of Oxford.

Samarendra Tripathy is an experienced professional with over 18 years of practice in automotive compliance activities at Renault Group.

He has expertise in regulations that are specific to new energy vehicles, which include Electric, Hybrid, and Fuel cell vehicles. He is a graduate from ENSAM Angers and postgraduate from IFP School.

Sarah Montgomery is the CEO and Co-founder of Infyos. The digital platform that helps energy, automotive and battery companies manage their battery supply chain sustainability. Sarah has been recognised as a one of the world’s most impactful leaders on Forbes 30 Under 30 and has been featured in publications including Financial Times, Sifted and Business Insider.

Sarah is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Battery Alliance and IRMA’s Working Group on Circular Economy. Sarah speaks Chinese and has previously built the China expansion at the supply chain technology scale-up Everledger backed by Tencent.

As the Head to Technology Trends at the APC, Hadi oversees the technology strategy and a portfolio of insights and foresights as well as automotive council roadmaps, working closely with the Automotive Council UK, industry and research and innovation ecosystem.

Prior to joining the APC, Hadi was the Associate Dean for Research and Innovation at University of Salford, and before that, he had a 9-year career at WMG, University of Warwick and High Value Manufacturing (HVM) Catapult, focussing on net zero technologies and transport systems.

Hadi is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (FIMechE), and the co-chair of the IMechE Midland region.

Thomas Derouin holds a General Engineering degree from Ecole Centrale de Lyon. He has been working in A2MAC1 for 8 years, he created the Energy Management Strategy department, focusing on energy consumption study and powertrain / thermal systems control strategies thanks to embedded measurement and extensive test campaigns.

Today he is a Product Manager for everything about technology/performance of high voltage batteries, powertrains, power electronics and thermal systems.

Andrijana Tomic has 11-years of experience in sustainability, in her current role as Sustainability manager she is working on implementation ZF 2040 Sustainability Strategy for various projects, developing key initiatives for sustainable design of transmissions, e-drives and axle drives portfolio with focus on carbon footprint reduction for materials and technologies, and integration of key OEM sustainability strategies and requirements in projects.

Prior to these role Andrijana worked several years in various industries and consultancy companies as specialist for Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA, SEIA), EHS, IPPC permits for various industries and infrastructure projects.

Dr Cecile Pera has more than 37,000 followers on LinkedIn and generates original technical and business content with a global visibility of 25 million views / year over multiple Social Platform. After a PhD in Engines from University of Rouen, she joined IFP Energies nouvelles in Paris where she worked from upstream research on combustion to industrial engine development.

In 2015, she joined Infineum (JV ExxonMobil and Shell) as a Performance Testing Leader, supporting OEM-related projects. In 2018, she started a Business Development role in a Software company used by most car manufacturers. She is now the Director of her own consultancy company called OROVEL.

Wiktor Dotter is the CEO of ZeBeyond Ltd, a company translating the vehicle performance and cost impact of sustainable materials. With extensive experience from OEMs and automotive suppliers, most recently Höganäs, a market leader in sustainable materials, he has guided boards in key investment decisions for sustainable mobility.

His background allows him to communicate effectively across various disciplines. Similar to ZeBeyond’s simulation software, he understands and integrates with multiple fields, promoting fact-based decision-making between silos. This skill is especially crucial in the dynamic world of sustainable transport, where fast and fact based insights are essential for managing uncertainty.

Dominik Stork is Product Manager at A2MAC1, exploring and developing innovative services and advanced insights, aiming to strengthen A2MAC1´s future product portfolio. Based in Munich Germany, Dominik has been with A2MAC1 since 2020, working initially as consultant engineer, before he switched to a program management role for global programs and initiatives.

In 2023, Dominik temporarily moved to Shanghai, China, to ramp up and support A2MAC1´s global expansion within the region. He holds an Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Energy Systems from the Munich University of Applied Sciences, Germany. Before joining A2MAC1, Dominik worked for a global Tier 1 supplier on battery simulations.

Alex Laugharne leads CRU Consulting's services related to battery materials and is at the forefront of CRU's understanding of this rapidly evolving space. He has led numerous consulting projects for major players across different battery materials, geographical markets, and parts of the battery value chain from mine to EV. 

Alex has more than 16 years of consulting experience. He co-founded CRU's New York office in 2015 and was based there until he returned to CRU's London headquarters in 2022.

Dr. Daniel Kern has been with Novelis since 2016, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to his current role as Vice President, Global Automotive Development. Based in Zurich, Switzerland, Daniel's career at Novelis has included a variety of impactful roles, like Strategy, Global Account Director for Automotive and Plant Manager.

Since May 2024, Daniel has been leading global automotive development efforts, driving innovation and strategic growth in this critical sector. Prior to joining Novelis, Daniel worked as an Engagement Manager at McKinsey in Germany. He holds a Master of Business Administration and a Doctorate from Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen-Nürnberg.

Hans Eric Melin is the Managing Director of Circular Energy Storage Research & Consulting (CES),a London-based consultancy he founded in 2017 with the aim to provide data on the end-of-life market for lithium-ion batteries.

Prior to funding CES Hans Eric was Vice President Market Development at Battery Solutions in the US which at the time was the largest waste battery collector and recycler in North America. Before that Hans Eric co-founded and headed the intelligent sorting company Refind Technologies which used AI-based sorting systems to the global battery recycling industry.

Hans Eric’s work within CES has been published in academic journals such as Nature and Science and has been cited by over 1,000 papers as well as in reports from the White House and the EU Commission.

Jordan Lindsay is the Head of Research at Minviro, a UK-based life cycle assessment company that works within the raw material and battery industries to quantify and reduce environmental impact of key materials and products for global decarbonisation technology applications (photovoltaics, hydrogen, electric motors) and critical raw material supply chains.

He completed his PhD in Geology at the University of Exeter, Camborne School of Mines, where he studied platinum-group metal prospectivity using machine learning approaches, and has significant experience working with ore deposit geology, geochemistry and economic minerals prior to commencing his role with Minviro.
