He specializes in flat-rolled steel but has also reported on steel long products, steel pipe and tube as well as aluminum.  Before joining SMU, Cowden held reporting jobs at Fastmarkets AMM in Chicago,  the Associated Press in Pittsburgh, and the Cambodia Daily in Phnom Penh.  He has also worked as a copy editor and in marketing at the University of Chicago Press. Cowden has a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Chicago and a master's degree from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.

Jeff Moskaluk is senior vice president and chief commercial officer of SSAB Americas, a leading steel plate producer in North America. Jeff joined SSAB (formerly IPSCO) in July 1990 with increasing responsibilities in the areas of sales, operations, marketing, trade, communications, government relations, and business planning. In September 2011 , Jeff was promoted to the role of vice president and chief commercial officer. In October of 2017 he was named senior vice president. Jeff's current responsibilities include overs ight of SSAB Americas commercial activities, marketing and trade portfolio, and SSAB Americas' business unit teams. Jeff attended Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario and graduated with a bachelor's degree and a graduate diploma in Business Administration.

Daniel Brown leads advanced steelmaking technology for U. S. Steel and serves as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Big River Steel Works. With over 31 years at U. S. Steel, Dan has held leadership roles across domestic and international operations, including Serbia and key U.S. facilities. He oversees operations at Big River Steel and the company’s new mill in Osceola, Arkansas. Dan holds a B.S. in Business Logistics from Penn State and an MBA in Finance from Duquesne University.

Conrad was a partner at Booz Allen and Hamilton, served as CEO for Ardagh Glass Packaging, North America. He also founded a Covid-19 testing company, Shield T3. Conrad is an MIT-educated mechanical engineer, with an MBA from Northwestern University. He served in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear submariner aboard fast attack submarines

Tom Derry is Chief Executive Officer of the Institute for Supply Management, with more than 30 years of experience in leadership and general management roles for public and private companies, and in the not-for profit sector. He has executed turn-arounds at the corporate and business-unit level through a variety of means, including acquisitions, divestitures, restructuring, and business process re-engineering.

As CEO of the Institute for Supply Management (ISM), Tom has a unique vantage point to observe major macroeconomic trends and the development of global supply chains through his daily contact with Fortune 500 chief procurement officers and chief supply chain officers, with government agencies and NGOs in the United States and abroad, and with leading academics. Tom has been interviewed on CNBC, Bloomberg Television, quoted in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and dozens of other business publications. Tom has represented ISM in meetings with the White House Council of Economic Advisers, the National Security Council, the Federal Reserve System Board of Governors, and the U.S. Small Business Administration.

At ISM, Tom has overseen an increase in revenues, a reduction in costs, the introduction of new revenue streams, and the launch of new product lines. As Chief Operating Officer of the Association for Financial Professionals, Tom oversaw strategy development and execution. Tom completed two cross-border acquisitions, which became for-profit subsidiaries of AFP. He oversaw all AFP staff in London, UK and Bethesda, MD.

As General Manager of the Business Intelligence unit of LexisNexis, team led a 40-person acquisition integration team, which completed the integration ahead of plan and under budget. He also executed the strategic divestiture of another LexisNexis unit, and implemented new technologies, including web-crawling bots, to re-engineer data collection and quality processes for LexisNexis’ business data unit. Tom is a 1986 graduate of Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service (B.S., Foreign Service).

Joining CRU in 2012, Mr Spoores is Head of Steel Analysis in North America and editor of CRU’s market leading Steel Sheet Monitor and Steel Monitor. He also forecasts prices, demand, production and trade of sheet and plate products for both Canada and the US for CRU’s steel sheet and plate market outlooks. Prior to this role at CRU, he was a Senior Marketing Analyst at Severstal North America, founder of Steel Reality, a forward-looking market analysis firm using a models-based approach for flat rolled and plate steel. He was also the Market Research Manager at Majestic Steel USA, one of the largest flat rolled service centres in the USA. He has a BSc in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University.
