This seminar was very necessary for me to learn the basics of steel; the technical and slang words, the gages of material and how it is produced and run through a mill. I feel I will be more engaged and able to communicate better in conversations with steel service center representatives.

I learned so much at your workshop. I am thankful I had the opportunity to attend. I loved that I was able to go back and review the videos and download the notes for the videos. Also, I loved that I was able to download the PowerPoints as well. Thanks for all the hard work!

I enjoyed the workshop. The second day was enjoyable actually seeing the production of steel with the multiple videos provided. I also appreciated the instructors taking the time to answer all the questions and showed a genuine interest in any question.

I truly enjoyed this workshop! I learned a lot and I thought all of the speakers were great, they were obviously passionate and very knowledgeable. I would say this is an amazing learning tool for those looking to gain more knowledge of the steel industry!

Although the Steel 101 Workshop was virtual this year, the instructors still took ample time to answer questions and provide us with knowledge that will help us perform our everyday tasks in the steel industry!

I think SMU has done a fantastic job condensing so much valuable information into a short amount of time, while keeping the atmosphere fun and well paced.  The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and have decades of experience.  I will be recommending this workshop to my peers.

Overall, the workshop was very informative. The individuals from SMU know what they are talking about and can answer any questions you may have, regardless of your level of experience. I would recommend this workshop not for just new hires into the steel market but as a refresher course for those that have been involved for years. I have returned to my office with a better understanding of how steel is made and what it takes to obtain the products we utilize.

Being new to the steel industry I had so many questions! It is hard to sift through all the information found online and not get overwhelmed, but having this seminar is a good starting point to begin more in-depth searches and ask more intelligent questions.  While you do not walk out of this seminar as an expert, you do have a really good toolbox to become one in time.  I thank the organizers and will try to get everyone in the company to eventually attend one of this in the future!

Very interesting, the information it is valuable for different areas, sales, quality, purchasing, etc. Facilitators from different areas and vast experience make the workshop a good investment.
