The transition to a new, lower carbon steel industry is accelerating quickly. On one hand CBAM, the recently introduced EU regulation, provide frameworks to abate emissions generated during the production of steel as well as contributing to the decarbonisation of other sectors. On the other, new steelmaking technologies require different energy sources and raw materials mix and grades.
With this in mind, The 3rd Steel Decarbonisation Summit (formerly Steel Decarbonisation Strategies Conference) is a unique and strategic event that brings together senior executives from across the steelmaking supply chain. The conference is held in Stockholm, September 17-18, the heart of the European low carbon steel market.
A new industry structure is only just beginning to emerge, with incumbents, new entrants and consumers adjusting to and competing for new market advantages. Over two-days the conference analyses the actual impact on new dynamics in the iron ore and other raw materials markets, the decoupling between ironmaking and steelmaking, new pricing mechanisms, technological trends, etc., including supply chains imbalances and constraints.
Previous editions of the Steel Decarbonisation conference have attracted up to 360 top level executives and key stakeholders from traditional steelmaking companies and across the sustainability communities, including legislative, financing, service providers, just to name a few.
