SUPERACCUDROP HP: The new feeding device in the field of sulphur pastillation

SBS Sulphur pastillation: ACCUDROP process vs SUPERACCUDROP process

ACCUDROP process

The Accudrop feeding device is composed by a heated, cylindrical stator, which is fed with liquid sulphur, while an external perforated rotating shell turns concentrically around the stator; the shell deposits liquid drops on the process surface of the steel belt forming hemispherical pastilles. The circumferential speed of the Accudrop is synchronized with the speed of the belt to permit the drops settling without deformation.

The heat released during solidification and cooling is transferred by the stainless steel belt to the cooling water. This is sprayed against the belt underside, collected in tanks, and returned to the cooling plant. The cooling water never comes in touch with sulphur.

SUPER ACCUDROP process
The Super Accudrop feeding device is similar to the Accudrop one.

The main difference is represented by the diameter of the pastillator, which is more than 3 times bigger than the standard Accudrop.

This allows to reach a higher productivity because the centrifugal force is inversely proportional to the radius. The centrifugal force is the main parameter influencing the release of drops from the outer shell nozzles. This means that we can carry out the pastillation process almost twice as fast as it happens with the Accudrop system but having the same centrifugal force on pastilles.
