Clare Hanna

Clare Hanna joined CRU in August 2019 and currently works as a Senior Analyst covering Manganese Ore and Ferroalloys and is Editor of the Bulk Ferroalloys Monitor.Clare has over 30 years’ experience in the steel industry with British Steel, Tata Steel and Corus in a range of strategy, sales, marketing and procurement roles. Recent responsibilities include business development for wire rod and, prior to that, lead buyer ferroalloys for Tata Steel Group.Clare holds an MBA from Warwick Business School and BA Honours degree in Economics from Leeds University.

Samuel Hayes

Samuel joined CRU Analysis in January 2023 and is responsible for Molybdenum analysis services as part of the Base Metals group based at CRU's London Office. Prior to joining CRU, Samuel gained 3 years of experience in the Mining industry working as a Process and Proposals Engineer for Metso Outotec, with a previous focus on the pyro processing and combustion sectors.  

Samuel holds an MEng in Chemical Engineering from University College London, where he attained a First Class degree. His research project as part of his Master's degree was in the design and production of novel cathode materials for lithium sulphur batteries, investigating hollow carbon nanospheres for usage in next-generation batteries, for which he achieved a distinction.

Kai Hasenclever

Mr. Hasenclever has been the Director of Economics & Statistics and Long Products at the worldstainless Association in Brussels since 2014. He has more than 20 years of experience in stainless steel.  

Having grown up in Germany, India, Taiwan, the USA and Brazil he started his professional career in 1995 in New York City at Ferrostaal Inc. in international steel and raw material trade. After working in the management of the metal market place www.steelscreen.com he joined ThyssenKrupp in 2001. There he held several senior management positions in ThyssenKrupp group companies until 2013, foremost at ThyssenKrupp Stainless AG with the focus on stainless steel project management, consultancy, strategy and raw material studies.  

Mr. Hasenclever holds a MS in Geography, Sinology and Economics from the Ruhr University Bochum, Germany.

Geng Zuo

Geng Zuo, is Chief Researcher of Minmetals Research Institute, a Senior Economist, and holds a Masters degree of Management of Business Administration. He has more than 27 years experience in the Metallurgical Mining Industry, taking charge of/Working as the Chief Consultant in many projects in the fields of copper, iron ore, nickel, chrome, coking coal and the steel industry. He is a columnist for China Metallurgical News and China Mining News. Additionally, he is Vice chairman of the Resource Planning Committee of China Society of Geology and Mineral Economics.

Sam Beardshaw

Natalia Erkina

Natalia Erkina is an experienced ferroalloys professional with a Master's Degree in International Relations. Beginning her career at Posco, she spearheaded ferroalloys and furnaces projects, showcasing her expertise in production, sales, and procurement within the industry. Through collaborations with major ferroalloys producers and steel manufacturers in Asia, Natalia has cultivated a robust network and gained invaluable insights. Her diverse experience at companies like Metalloinvest and Posco has refined her skills in purchasing and sales within prominent Steel and Raw Materials companies, spanning the Asian ferroalloys market and Europe. Currently based in Tokyo, Natalia is a vital contributor to Alfa Ferro Alloys, where she leverages her expertise to drive success in the industry.

Tanya Atalay

Tanya Atalay has joined the ICDA as Senior Market Analyst in February 2024, she is an experienced market reporter and analyst with 11 years of expertise in monitoring and analyzing global steelmaking raw materials. She has previously worked as a Market Reporter and Analyst, as well as an Editor of Ferroalloys news with Metal Expert. Tanya Atalay holds a Master’s degree in International Economics from Dnipropetrovsk National University, Ukraine.

Panos Kotseras

Panos started his career in commercial roles with copper and aluminium fabricators in the early 2000s. He joined CRU as a copper demand and wire & cable analyst in 2008 and became the lead analyst for cobalt and molybdenum in 2011. Panos moved to Rio Tinto Copper in 2015, working as an analyst and marketing executive in the molybdenum and copper by-product sales and marketing team. He rejoined CRU in 2018 becoming responsible for stainless steel market analysis and price assessment. Panos is currently the Head of Stainless Steel Raw Materials at CRU, managing a team of experts covering the nickel, chrome, molybdenum, tin and precious metals markets. He is undertaking an executive PhD at ESCP Business School with the goal to investigate the intersection between Artificial Intelligence and Commodities.

Veronika Akhmadieva

Veronika joined CRU’s Economics Team in September 2021 as an American Economist. She focuses on the economic analysis and forecasting for the North America region. Veronika holds a PhD in Economics and Finance specialising in econometrics and applied macroeconomics. Her doctorate focuses on fiscal sustainability and balance of payments solvency, and in addition, covers topics such as income and price elasticities of trade and the macroeconomic impact of the euro. Veronika completed an MSc in Finance and Accounting at Imperial College Business School and a BSc (Honours) in Economics at Brunel University, for which she received a University Prize. Veronika has lectured at Birkbeck, University of London, since 2016, teaching modules such as applied statistics and econometrics, mathematics for finance, and international finance. She has presented her research at academic conferences and at internal and external seminars.

Madhura Shirodkar

Madhura joined CRU in May 2021 and currently works as a Consultant in CRU’s London office. She holds a B.Soc.Sci. (Hons) in Economics and Mathematics from the National University of Singapore and worked in CRU’s Singapore office before moving to London. Since joining CRU, Madhura has worked across a multitude of projects spanning market entry, M&A, decarbonization strategy, debt financing due diligence, and asset screening. Madhura has cross-commodity experience covering ferrous metals, battery raw materials and other key metals needed to support the green energy transition. Working alongside some of the preeminent players in the process, both in Europe and Asia, has enabled her to develop a better understanding of the strategic issues facing the industry, as well as the necessary measures required for them to be addressed.
