The grade is characterized by good corrosion resistance to carbamate solutions both with oxygen and with little or no oxygen, excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion, excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion and high resistance to stress corrosion cracking (SCC).
Another is a novel bimetallic tubing with a bonded zirconium inner layer and stainless outer layer for corrosive nitric acid plants. Additionally, austenitic grades like Sandvik 2RE69 and 2RE10 last up to 35 years for urea plants.
