Senior Analyst ,  CRU
Clare Hanna joined CRU in August 2019 and currently works as a Senior Analyst covering Manganese Ore and Ferroalloys and is Editor of the Bulk Ferroalloys Monitor.Clare has over 30 years’ experience in the steel industry with British Steel, Tata Steel and Corus in a range of strategy, sales, marketing and procurement roles. Recent responsibilities include business development for wire rod and, prior to that, lead buyer ferroalloys for Tata Steel Group.Clare holds an MBA from Warwick Business School and BA Honours degree in Economics from Leeds University.

Consultant,  CRU
Callum joined CRU in February 2021 and currently works as a Consultant in CRU's London office. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Geology from the University of Edinburgh and a MSc in Metals and Energy Finance from Imperial College London.   Since joining CRU, Callum has worked across a multitude of projects spanning market entry, M&A, decarbonization strategy, debt financing due diligence, emissions modelling and asset screening. In particular, he has worked extensively on ferrous materials, with a focus on the implementation of hydrogen and other carbon reducing initiatives. Having worked alongside some of the preeminent players in the process, both in Europe and further afield, he has developed a deep understanding of the strategic issues facing the industry, as well as the necessary measures required for them to be addressed

VP Europe,  LanzaTech
Babette is the VP Europe for LanzaTech, a pioneer in carbon capture technology that turns waste streams into CarbonSmartTM ethanol to create value as sustainable fuels and chemicals.Before joining LanzaTech, Babette was Director of Business Development at Ginkgo Bioworks, an early stage leader in synthetic biology. Prior to this, Babette was the Chief Business Development Officer at Capricorn Venture Partners, a European manager of venture capital and equity funds, Chief Commercial Officer for BioAmber, a market leader in renewable chemicals, and VP New Business Development for Performance Materials at Royal DSM. Prior to this, Babette held Marketing & New Business Development roles in different industry groups for over 20 years at Dow Corning.Babette has a BSc in Biology from Wellesley College, USA and an MBA from INSEAD, France.

Senior Analyst, Finished Steel,  CRU

Yuriy joined CRU as a Stainless Steel market senior analyst in October 2022, and contributes to the Stainless Steel Flat Products Market Outlook and the Stainless Steel Flat Products Monitor services.

Yuriy started his career in the tobacco industry in the field of R&D and Operations. From the mid-2000s he worked in equity research for Morgan Stanley, Cazenove, JPMorgan, Berenberg and Ren Cap, covering the Metals & Mining sector. Yuriy holds an MSc in Physics and is working towards the completion of an MSc in Mining Engineering from Camborne School of Mines.  

Stainless Steel Raw Materials Analyst ,  CRU

Samuel joined CRU Analysis in January 2023 and is responsible for Molybdenum analysis services as part of the Base Metals group based at CRU's London Office. Prior to joining CRU, Samuel gained 3 years of experience in the Mining industry working as a Process and Proposals Engineer for Metso Outotec, with a previous focus on the pyro processing and combustion sectors.  

Samuel holds an MEng in Chemical Engineering from University College London, where he attained a First Class degree. His research project as part of his Master's degree was in the design and production of novel cathode materials for lithium sulphur batteries, investigating hollow carbon nanospheres for usage in next-generation batteries, for which he achieved a distinction.
