Senior Economist,  CRU
Veronika joined CRU’s Economics Team in September 2021 as an American Economist. She focuses on the economic analysis and forecasting for the North America region. Veronika holds a PhD in Economics and Finance specialising in econometrics and applied macroeconomics. Her doctorate focuses on fiscal sustainability and balance of payments solvency, and in addition, covers topics such as income and price elasticities of trade and the macroeconomic impact of the euro. Veronika completed an MSc in Finance and Accounting at Imperial College Business School and a BSc (Honours) in Economics at Brunel University, for which she received a University Prize. Veronika has lectured at Birkbeck, University of London, since 2016, teaching modules such as applied statistics and econometrics, mathematics for finance, and international finance. She has presented her research at academic conferences and at internal and external seminars.

Clare Hanna joined CRU in August 2019 and currently works as a Senior Analyst covering Manganese Ore and Ferroalloys and is Editor of the Bulk Ferroalloys Monitor.Clare has over 30 years’ experience in the steel industry with British Steel, Tata Steel and Corus in a range of strategy, sales, marketing and procurement roles. Recent responsibilities include business development for wire rod and, prior to that, lead buyer ferroalloys for Tata Steel Group.Clare holds an MBA from Warwick Business School and BA Honours degree in Economics from Leeds University.

Tanya Atalay has joined the ICDA as Senior Market Analyst in February 2024, she is an experienced market reporter and analyst with 11 years of expertise in monitoring and analyzing global steelmaking raw materials. She has previously worked as a Market Reporter and Analyst, as well as an Editor of Ferroalloys news with Metal Expert. Tanya Atalay holds a Master’s degree in International Economics from Dnipropetrovsk National University, Ukraine.

Tanya Atalay has joined the ICDA as Senior Market Analyst in February 2024, she is an experienced market reporter and analyst with 11 years of expertise in monitoring and analyzing global steelmaking raw materials. She has previously worked as a Market Reporter and Analyst, as well as an Editor of Ferroalloys news with Metal Expert. Tanya Atalay holds a Master’s degree in International Economics from Dnipropetrovsk National University, Ukraine.

Stainless Steel Raw Materials Analyst ,  CRU

Samuel joined CRU Analysis in January 2023 and is responsible for Molybdenum analysis services as part of the Base Metals group based at CRU's London Office. Prior to joining CRU, Samuel gained 3 years of experience in the Mining industry working as a Process and Proposals Engineer for Metso Outotec, with a previous focus on the pyro processing and combustion sectors.  

Samuel holds an MEng in Chemical Engineering from University College London, where he attained a First Class degree. His research project as part of his Master's degree was in the design and production of novel cathode materials for lithium sulphur batteries, investigating hollow carbon nanospheres for usage in next-generation batteries, for which he achieved a distinction.
