We are pleased to announce we will be offering several pre-conference social tours as part of the Africa Fertilizer Agribusiness 2018 Conference social programme taking place on Saturday 22, Sunday 23 and the morning of Monday 24 September 2018. These tours aim to provide additional networking opportunities and the chance to gain a fuller understanding of the host city and its rich agricultural and vinicultural heritage.
Please note that the cost of these optional tours are not included in the standard conference registration and that we require a minimum of 10 people per tour for the tour to go ahead.
Details of the tours are stated below:
Saturday 22 September:
Best of the Cape tour – Full Day – 08:30 – 18:00
This Full Day Tour is a combination of Cape Point and the Winelands. We start off the day travelling through the Peninsula and then make our way to the world-famous Stellenbosch region in the afternoon. Highlights to include: Clifton, Camps Bay, Twelve Apostles, Hout Bay, Chapman's Peak Drive, Cape Point/ Cape of Good Hope, Penguin Colony (optional*) - Simon's Town, Stellenbosch orientation, Vineyard Tour & Tastings
Price: ZAR1,490 per person (Approximately US$110)
*Additional cost: ZAR145 extra charge to be paid at the Nature reserve as this cost is not included in the tour cost
Sunday 23 September:
Table Mountain hike (Nature Reserve), Cape Town – 06:30 – 12:30 approx.
The spectacular Platteklip Gorge hike will take you to the top of Table Mountain National Park. The 3km (1.86 miles) trail (6km in total) climbs steeply from the mountain valley base, through forest and up rock stepping stones, before rising above the city and ending at a jaw-dropping lookout over Cape Town—an enormous cloud cover and wind sometimes stretches for over the table shaped mountain. The name of this is the Table Cloth for it’s distinctive resemblance to a cover over the table. Highlights: Guided Tour, Table Mountain, Scenic rest areas en-route.
Insider Tip: Dassies are spotted nearly every day near the Platteklip Trail. Although not dangerous, they should not be fed by humans.
Please note: The tour will take between 4-6 hours dependent on the group and their ability. The tour is weather dependent.

Spier Wine Farm, Stellenbosch – 15:00 – 19:00 approx.
Spier is one of the oldest wine farms in South Africa, with a recorded history dating back to 1692. The winery has won multiple awards in recent years. Set in a stunning location the tour will offer guests a full wine tasting session of the vineyard flagship wines as well as an informative talk about the farm.

Monday 24 September:
Cape Town city tour – Half Day – 08:30- 12:30
Encounter unique cultures, architecture, historical sights and unforgettable scenery as we travel through South Africa's oldest city - affectionately known as the Mother City.
Highlights to include: City Orientation, Table Mountain by cable car - weather permitting, Greenmarket Square, Company Gardens, Flower Market - Adderley Street, Bo-Kaap - Cape Malay
Price: ZAR580 per person (Approximately US$45)
Important information regarding ALL tours:
- The transfers for all tours will start at Century City Hotel, Cape Town
- Please note food is not included in the cost of any of the tours
- If you have registered for the Kropz Elandsfontein site visit you will be unable to attend the Cape Town City Tour due to a time clash.
- Unfortunately, if we do not receive enough interest in the tour/s by Friday 7 September we will have to cancel the individual tour
