Meet the CRU Optical Fibre & Cable Team

Michael Finch, Head of Wire and Cable, London

Michael joined CRU Analysis in 2015 gaining experience across several commodities including, nickel, chrome and molybdenum. In 2017 he became editor of CRU’s Stainless Steel Flat Products Monitor and Market Outlook.Before joining CRU, Mike gained experience as an exploration geologist focusing on precious and base metal mineralisation in North Africa. Michael completed his undergraduate studies at Cardiff University where he attained a First Class degree with Honours in Geology. He also holds an MSc in Mining Geology (Distinction) from Camborne School of Mines, University of Exeter.

  Sam Grant, Analyst, London

Sam joined CRU in October 2018 as an Analyst within the copper team and is based in London.He holds an MSc in the Global Management of Natural Resources from University College London with Distinction, and a BSc (Hons) Geology degree.He previously spent six months at the University of South Australia as a Research Student working with industry partners on methods of mine tailings management. Sam contributes to research for both the copper and wire & cable industries.
Richard Mack, Principal Consultant, Pittsburgh

Richard Mack joined KMI in 1988; he became a CRU analyst when CRU acquired KMI in 2006. He has been involved in fibre optics since 1981 and currently is the editor of CRU's Optical Fibre and Cable Monitor. He also is on the team of analysts that writes CRU's Telecom Cables Market Outlook.Richard has completed hundreds of reports and consulting projects in areas including optics, telecommunications, and cable.  Prior to his work as an industry analyst and consultant, he worked on several high-tech trade magazines.  He has a BA from the University of Delaware and an MS from Boston University.
Hadrien Guillotin, Wire & Cable Market Analyst, Hong Kong

Hadrien Guillotin is based in CRU’s Hong Kong office and is editor of the Wire and Cable Market Outlook, while also contributing to CRU’s wider metallic cable products. He is a fluent Mandarin speaker and previously lived for a number of years in Shanghai.
Natalie Noor-Drugan, Publisher & Editor in Chief, London

Natalie Noor-Drugan is a value-added content driven journalist and editor with 15 years experience in daily, weekly and monthly business-to-business publishing for the petrochemicals, fertilizers, steel and wire & cable industries.She has a proven track record in product launches, change management, online & print content creation and content improvement projects. She writes and commissions articles which analyse the wire & cable industry.
  Tianyu He, Copper Demand Analyst, Shanghai

Tianyu He joined CRU’s Shanghai office in 2018. He focuses on research and market intelligence around Copper demand.Before joining CRU, Tianyu previously covered the Asian steel market as a price analyst at Platts, and before that he worked as multiple metals analyst and consultant at Shanghai Metals Market.He holds a Master of International Financial Analysis from Jonkoping International Business School in Sweden.

Filippos Pappasavvas, Research Analyst, London

Filippos Papasavvas joined CRU in January 2019 as an Analyst within the Wire and Cable Team and is based in London.He holds a MSc in Economics from University College London with Distinction, and a BSc (Hons) Economics and Politics degree. He previously completed two dissertation projects with a focus on macroeconomics: the former investigated different economies’ business cycle dynamics, and the latter studied the link between financialisaton and economic development. Filippos is responsible for research in both the metallic and non-metallic wire & cable industries.
  Chenfei Wang, Analyst, London

Chenfei joined CRU in February 2019 as an Analyst within the Wire and Cable Team and is the current editor of CRU’s Wire and Cable Market Outlook. Prior to CRU, Chenfei spent 4 years working at Rolls-Royce in a variety of engineering leadership roles, with a focus on aeroengine technology development and process improvement. He holds an MSc in Advanced Materials Science and Engineering (Distinction) from Imperial College London, and a BEng (Hons) in Chemical and Materials Engineering (First Class and Dean’s List) from the University of Auckland.

Yuya Pan Yuya Pan, Senior Consultant, London

Dr. Yuya Pan, is based in our London office, is a Senior Analyst with CRU’s Wire and Cable Team. She joined the team in August 2015 and is editor of the Optical Fibre and Cable Monitor.   She also contributes largely to CRU’s, Telecom Cables Market Outlook, and CRU’s metallic cable and telecoms portfolio. She speaks in a number of CRU conferences covering fibre and cable. Dr. Pan joined CRU in 2010 and initially worked in the company’s aluminium team, contributing to a number of reports covering the whole value chain of the aluminium market and leading CRU's research and analysis of the fast changing developments on the Chinese aluminium markets.
