Paul KELLER

Paul Keller has more than 15 years of experience working in the petrochemical and electricity industries in various commercial roles. Currently, he is responsible for the marketing and business growth of polymers for communication and power cable jacketing at Borealis. He has been driving the transition to using sustainable material solutions such as recycled plastics and material based on renewable feedstock. Paul holds and MBA from the Institute of Management Development (IMD), Switzerland.

ZHUANG Dan

Zhuang Dan has been appointed as an executive director of YOFC with effect from 24 January 2017. Mr. Zhuang has been the president of the Company since September 2011. He is primarily responsible for strategic development and planning, and day-to-day management of the Company. Mr. Zhuang has more than 25 years of experience in the optical fibre and cable industry. He joined the Company in March 1998. Mr. Zhuang obtained a bachelor’s degree in auditing from Wuhan University in July 1992, a master’s degree in accounting from Wuhan University in June 1995, a doctorate in accounting from Zhongnan University of Finance and Economics in June 1998, and a postdoctoral certificate in business administration from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics in April 2001.

Frederick PERSSON

In 2010 Frederick Persson commenced employment with Prysmian Group as CEO in Sweden and in 2014 moved to Australia as CEO of the Prysmian Group’s ANZ business until February 2018. Frederick moved within Prysmian Group to Germany as Central East Europe CEO in February 2018 until December 2023. In December 2023 Frederick was promoted to his new assignment located in Milan Headquarters as Executive Vice President, Digital Solutions.

Frederick has a degree in Bachelor of Science in Logistics, studied in Vaxjoe Sweden, in 1996. He started his career with a Swedish steel manufacturer, SSAB. Frederick held various positions mainly in sales and progressed to CEO of SSAB, Canada. He moved to the stainless-steel industry becoming the MD of the French wholesaler company, IMS in Sweden.

John McGIRR

John McGirr is senior vice president and general manager, Optical Fiber and Cable, Corning Incorporated since July 2022. In this role, McGirr is responsible for developing and executing strategies that secure the long-term profitable growth of Corning’s optical fiber and cable business. Prior to his current role, McGirr served as senior vice president, Global Manufacturing, Corning Incorporated; division vice president, Manufacturing, Corning Optical Connectivity business; division vice president, Manufacturing & Supply Chain Operations, Corning Life Sciences; director, Manufacturing Excellence, Corning Incorporated; and various engineering, operations, and leadership roles.

  Prior to joining Corning, McGirr served as a Submarine Warfare Officer in the U.S. Navy, and a project engineer for Mobil Oil Company. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He served as a board member of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM).

LI Han

LIHan graduated from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications and obtained his Ph.D in 2002. He was appointed as a professorate senior engineer in 2015. Currently, he serves as the Chief Expert of China Mobile and the Director of the Department of Fundamental Network Technology at China Mobile Research Institute. He has extensive knowledge in SPN, PTN, OTN, PON and synchronization technology. He has authored over 100 articles and holds more than 150 authorized patents. He is the editor of 15 ITU-T recommendations and IETF RFCs. He has received the National Science and Technology Progress Award of China three times and has been honored with provincial and ministerial-level Science and Technology Awards over 10 times.

AO Li

Mr. AO Li, a professorate senior engineer, is the Chief Engineer of China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT). He graduated from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), majoring in image transmission and processing, and obtained an MBA from Norwegian School of Management (NSM).

He has long been engaged in the research of technologies and standards in the fields of broadband optical network, future network, and smart home. He presided over the research work in key national projects for broadband development, gigabit optical network, universal telecom services, and triple play (the integration of telecommunications, broadcasting, and Internet networks) and won many national, provincial, and ministerial S&T progress awards.

He is also serving as Vice Chairman of CCSA’s Technical Committee on Transmission Network and Access Network and the Chairman of the Working Group on Access Networks and Home Networks, Secretary General of SDN/NFV/AI Industry Alliance, and Deputy Secretary General of Broadband Development Alliance.

Alain GIRAUD

Alain Giraud is Global Sales Director for Optical Preform, Fiber & Cable manufacturing technologies, and a board director ofthe sales & service units in USA, India, China, Switzerland. Alain held severalexecutive  positions in the Rosendahl Nextromgroup and has accumulated over 30+ years of business experience in the Telecom Fiber & Cable, Photonics, Pipe and Specialty Fiber , Energy cables industries. He holds a masters degree  fromthe Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in IT & Telecommunications.

Carol CAO

Prior to joining Lightcounting in 2024, Carol boasted 19 years of experience in the optical component industry. She has been employed at one of the global Top 5 optical component companies. For the initial 10 years, she functioned as a hardware and systems engineer. She possesses extensive experience in transceivers, optical amplifiers, coherent modules, and optical transmission systems. She spent 4 years in the technical department, involved in technical planning and standard-related work and participated in the work of IEEE 802.3 and ITU-T. Subsequently, she worked in the strategic planning department for 5 years, accountable for market research and strategic planning-related tasks. She has been persistently tracking the development of Ethernet optical modules in data centers since 2014, encompassing the development of AI. She continuously conducts research on the technological advancement of optical components in optical networks, including photon integration, Thin Film Lithium, Microring Modulator, etc. Additionally, she also undertakes some research on certain new applications of optical devices, such as satellite communication, LiDAR, Photon Computing, etc. She obtained a Master's degree in Physical Electronics from Wuhan Research Institute of Telecommunication in 2005.

ZHANG Chengliang

Chengliang Zhang is the President of Research Institute of China Telecom Co., Ltd., where his interests include SDN and carrier and optical networks. He also serves as Vice Chair of the Optical Communication Committee of China Institute of Communications (CIC). He was appointed as professorate senior engineer and selected as a nationlevel candidate of the "New Century National Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent Project". He has won the National Science and Technology Progress Prize multiple times as the first author, and has been awarded the "Young and Middleaged Experts with Outstanding Contributions" by the Ministry of Human Resources, as well as received the fourth "Outstanding Engineer Award".

Marie-Ange VATIN

Marie-Ange VATIN was born in Versailles in 1971, graduated from Valenciennes University with a Master II degree in European and International Business Law, she began her career in 2000 in the telecom cable industry specializing in fiber optic cables. With a strong technical and strategic background, she initially held position in procurement, within SAGEMCOM, where she played key role in sourcing critical materials for the industry.

Subsequently she transitioned into market development, where she contributed to the expansion of fiber cable product portfolio within GENERAL CABLE. Thanks to her management skills and strategic vision, she later took on responsibility of managing the Business Unit Telecom, successfully leading teams to achieve commercial objectives and strengthen the company’s market position.

In 2019 she joined DSM as Global head of fiber optic material business, taken over by COVESTRO  in 2021, she has over 20 years experienced in the value chain of the Telecom cable Industry

Raadj MATAI

Presently Raadj Matai is the Chief Scientist - Optical Fibre with YOFC. He received his BS degree in Chemical Engineering in the Netherlands in 1984. He started his Optical Fibre carrier in Philips Optical Fibre in Netherlands, Eindhoven in 1985. Since 1992, he is working in YOFC in various positions like Technical manager, Production manager, Technology Director, Deputy General Manager and Chief Scientist optical fibre.During his carrierhe was involved in numerous product and process development projects related to single mode, multi mode and Specialty optical fibres, e.g. low attenuation product series, low PMD single mode & Specialty fibres, large size preforms, G.652, G.653, G.654 ultra low loss, G.656 and G.657 product series, etc. His mailing address: r.matai@yofc.com.

Enrique MENDEZ

Enrique is responsible for the telecom business within Teijin Aramid. He has over 20 years of experience in strategic marketing, specializing in the intersection of business and technology. He holds a PhD in Physics and an MBA. 

Ivan ZYULKOV

Ivan Zyulkov serves as the Commercial Manager for Europe and Asia, leading commercial initiatives in Germanium-based products, including Ge substrates, high-purity Ge crystals, GeCl₄ chemistry, and Ge recycling services. He joined Umicore in 2020 as a Business Development Manager in the Electro-Optic Materials business unit, where he focuses on the photonics market, particularly on integrating Germanium into VCSELs, microLEDs, and SWIR sensors.

Before joining Umicore, Ivan built a strong foundation in the microelectronics sector with roles at ASM International and IMEC, amassing over a decade of specialized experience in electronics.

Ivan holds a PhD in Chemistry from KU Leuven, Belgium, where his research at IMEC concentrated on selective atomic layer deposition for advanced CMOS metallization techniques.

Barry GILL

Barry Gill. VP Sales and Marketing Photon Kinetics.

Barry Gill joined Photon Kinetics in 1994 after 10 years working on fiber measurement R+D in the UK, including very early work on Chromatic Dispersion and Cable Strain measurements. Various roles at PK in sales and marketing have taken Barry to virtually every global fiber and cable manufacturing facility; working closely within the industry to develop preform, fiber and cable measurement technology.

WANG Chenfei

Chenfei is Head of CRU's Wire and Cable team, and works across the full portfolio of products analysing key trends and developments in both the metallic wire and cable, and optical fibre industries. He is a Principal Analyst and also the current editors of CRU's Telecom Cables Market Outlook and Optical Fibre and Cable Monitor.Chenfei joined CRU in early 2019 as an Analyst within the Wire and Cable team. At CRU, Chenfei held various editorship roles including Wire and Cable Market Outlook and HV and EHV Cables Market Outlook. Prior to CRU, Chenfei was working at Rolls-Royce in a variety of engineering leadership roles, with a focus on aeroengine technology development and manufacturing process improvement.He holds an MSc in Advanced Materials Science and Engineering from Imperial College London, and a BEng (Hons) in Chemical and Materials Engineering from the University of Auckland. Chenfei spent 3.5 years in CRU London office and he is now based in CRU Shanghai office.

Vishnu PATIDAR

Vishnu Patidar has over 13 years' rich multi-industry experience spanning strategy, marketing, product management, international business development and export sales. He is a Senior Analyst in CRU's Wire and Cable team and works on analysing key trends and developments in both the metallic wire and cable, and the optical fibre and cable industries. Prior to joining CRU, Vishnu held positions at leading fiber optic cable manufacturers, where he spearheaded global expansion efforts and achieved significant growth in export sales. He holds an MBA in International Business and multiple certifications in areas such as Foreign Trade, Export Marketing, and Project Management from prestigious institutions.
